Iceland:
Was mesmerizingly strange. I usually think of ‘exotic’ as word for hot places, but Iceland has some unexplainable exoticism of its own. Its almost completely barren, with the rare crest of a blue and green mountain, and it’s surrounded by miles and miles of vast cold sea. Everything is very expensive in Iceland. Food is expensive. Transportation is expensive. Hotels are expensive. Also, the people are reserved, so a smile is welcome and special generosity. They are also very, very good-looking. They are blonde, and pale, and tall. Their money is worthless. It cannot be exchanged anywhere but within the country itself; no other currency exchange will accept it or provide it. But it is very colorful money, with pictures of cloaked and caped folksy cultural icons, and the money is also huge. The money is confusing because, it is measured in tens of thousand of units, or rather, hundreds, but at 11:30 at night it all seems astronomical. One day was probably not enough.
>Errin Jade Toma is the best! I love her and Nikolai, who, despite being absent at the moment, will arrive shortly to party down this beach hotel room. Yay us!
